Drifter from Celsius Games is a space exploration and trading sim that's set to hit the PS Vita sometime this year.

We've actually been writing about the iOS version for a couple of years, but things went quiet on the game for a while. Now a post on the PlayStation Blog has revealed the game is making the jump to Vita.

If you're the sort of player who gets off on size then you'll be glad to know the game is set in a sandbox universe that's a hundred thousand lightyears across, packed full of tens of thousands of star systems.

You can choose to trade within the law, relying on friendly agreements and legal work to keep your ship in the sky.

Or you can rely on lasers, taking on escort missions, bounty hunting jobs, and even going rogue yourself and becoming a space pirate. I'm totally going space pirate.

Alongside the sandbox stuff there's a series of story missions you can follow. And whatever path you choose through the game there are skills and powers to augment your captain's abilities.

We don't have a release date for Drifter yet, but we do know that it's set to hit PS4 and PS Vita some time soon.

We will, of course, let you know when we've got some more details about when the game's coming out and how much it's going to cost.

In the meantime, check out the trailer above, and the screenshots in the gallery at the top of the page, and imagine what sort of mischief you could get up to in deep space.
