Hopeless: Space Shooting puts laser-blasting blobs out amongst the stars

It's tough to improve on a simple game like Hopeless: The Dark Cave, but developer Upopa Games is hoping that it's managed to do just that by blasting its adorable blobs into the darkest reaches of space.

The end result is Hopeless: Space Shooting, a sequel to the Bronze Award-winning Hopeless: The Dark Cave that retains the basic premise of the original survival horror shooter but adds some welcome updates to its gameplay.

For starters, there's now a multi-touch fire system that allows you to use more of your iOS or Android device's screen for your monster slaying pleasure.

Space Shooting also launches with two full game modes - something Hopeless: The Dark Cave required an update to receive - so there's plenty here for your time-wasting pleasure.

If you've got about 20MB free on your mobile gaming device of choice and don't mind parting with 99c/69p for an adorable diversion of a game, you could probably do a lot worse than you will with Hopeless: Space Shooting.
