Like a thief who has been caught red handed, Rovio has restored access to Tiny Thief's fourth and fifth chapters, for iOS gamers who had purchased the charming puzzler before it went free-to-play last week.

PG commenters and App Store reviewers were up in arms when they went to re-download Tiny Thief to check out its new Bewitched update, only to find that some of the original chapters were now locked behind a £1.49 / $1.99 paywall.

"On iOS the issue was resolved in a new update," says Jussi Immonen of Rovio Stars Publishing.

"If users face this problem now, they can resolve it by making sure they are running the latest version of the game, shutting down the application completely and restarting the game."

To shut an app completely, press the home button twice to open multitasking and then swipe the Tiny Thief panel up and off the top of the screen. When you load the game again you may be promoted to put in your iTunes password.

"On Android this issue occurs because in that platform the purchase history can't be restored in certain technical situations," explains Immonen. "Our customer support is aware of the issue and Android users affected by this are invited to contact them."
