Inferno Tower - Clash of Clans Complete Guide to Defenses
|
| Clash of Clans

In single target mode, the key to the Inferno Tower's power is time: the longer it's on, the harder it burns.

Its damage is three-tiered, with the 'mid' level activating after 2 seconds, and the 'high' level coming into effect after 5 seconds.

When attacking multiple targets, the flames' power will not charge up. You can switch between modes at any time, so use whichever is most appropriate given the circumstances.

Like the X-Bow, it boasts a high-rate attack and you'll need to keep it topped up with Elixir (Dark) for it to function.

Defensive tactics

In single target mode the Inferno Tower boast awesome power, but it takes a while to get there. And while it can switch to multiple targets, its effectiveness is much reduced in this state.

As such, ensure your Inferno Tower is well defended by other units which can take care of low-level troop swarm attacks (the Wizard Tower and Mortar are ideal complements).

Level Damage Per Second - Single Mode (low / mid / high) Damage Per Second - Multiple Mode Max Targets - Multiple Mode Hit Points Upgrade Cost Upgrade Time Town Hall Level Required Build Number Allowed
1 24 / 100 / 1000 30 5 1500 5,000,000 7d 10 2
2 30 / 125 / 1250 38 5 1900 6,500,000 10d 10 2
3 36 / 140 / 1400 42 5 2200 8,000,000 14d 10 2

Offensive tactics

Confronting an Inferno Tower in single target mode with heavy-duty single units (e.g. Golem) is suicide. In this mode the Tower is actually weakest against low-level unit swarm attacks, because it has to go through its powering up cycle every time it focuses on a new unit.

To an extent that partly still applies in multiple target mode, too, because the Tower's defence effectiveness drops and it can only handle a small group of troops at any one time - so it can be overwhelmed. But getting to an Inferno Tower with your swarm units is another matter, of course. Consider easing the way by unleashing a salvo of Lightning Spells or destroying any supporting defenses first.

That's if the Inferno Tower is powered up and ready to go, of course - if there is no Dark Elixir in it, you’re free to attack without worrying about getting your butt burned.
