What with all the ultraviolent Greek mythology and gleaming polygons, it's not difficult to see where Godfire: Rise of Prometheus gets its ideas from.

Vivid's mobile answer to God of War is well tailored to touchscreens, with big context-sensitive on-screen buttons for the key movements (dodge / move, block, light attack, heavy attack) and a manageable number of chumps to slaughter at any one time.

I didn't get to play it with a physical controller, which is how I imagine it will work best, but the action felt pretty hefty and responsive on a touchscreen.

As you make your way through the campaign, you unlock more powerful weapons, better armour, and perks. Don't worry, though: you won't have to buy them. That's because Godfire: Rise of Prometheus is going to be a premium game when it comes out for iOS and Android "soon".
