Globlins is an interesting squishy puzzler from Cartoon Network that sees you popping colourful globs to create chain reactions.

You control everything with taps. Each Globlin you pop spurts out a blob of goo in four directions. These pop any other creatures they hit, or, if they're not fit to burst yet, increase them by one size.

The aim is to clear the screen of the monsters in as few taps as possible. Popping them all with a single tap is a surprisingly pleasant experience, and one you can't help but smile about.

There's a hefty chunk of game to play through, with 60 levels spread across four different worlds (each with a different theme and look).

I've only played the first ten or so minutes of the game. And while it is a paid download, there does appear to be a few IAPs around for adding coins to your coffer. Oh, and there's something that looks a bit like an energy system, too.

There is an interesting and head-scratching game here, sure, but it remains to be seen whether those IAPs and that energy system will affect the later stages.

Still, if you fancy some squelchy puzzling this afternoon, you can grab Globlins from the App Store for £1.49 / $1.99 right now.
