Updated on March 13th, at 09:30: As you might have read in the comments section below, PlunderNauts is now available for iPad and iPhone in Canada and the UK.
If you live in one of those splendid places, you can grab the game right now for free [download].
Folks in other territories will be able to download the game soon. We'll let you know when PlunderNauts swings onto Android.
Original story follows...
Space pirates love nothing more than blowing up starships and exploring vast galaxies for loot.
And that's precisely what you can expect to be doing in LightBox Interactive's upcoming iOS and Android space pirate game PlunderNauts.
This will represent LightBox's first foray into mobile gaming, after having worked on Twisted Metal: Black, Warhawk, and Starhawk for PS3.
For PlunderNauts, LightBox has teamed up with publisher Backflip Studios, who also announced it would be publishing Seabeard earlier today.
As can be seen in the trailer above, PlunderNauts will have you swiping to guide your own pirate starship, and tapping on your enemies to take them down with cannon fire.
As you explore the universe, you'll encounter plenty of pretty planets and many other stunning vistas. More importantly, however, you'll find a variety of other starships to plunder, collect, and upgrade.
PlunderNauts will be surfacing on iOS and Android soon.
