Way back in August, we caught wind of an oddball mash-up that put RPG characters on the fairway in the aptly named Dungeons & Golf.

It fell off our radar since then, but - like so much a birdie from the rough - it's made its way to the green pastures of the App Store and Google play.

And, better still, it won't cost you a dime to download.

The title's a bit misleading, however, as there are no real dungeons in Dungeons & Golf - but there is golf, and plenty of it.

There's also some rather gorgeous graphics and a bright soundtrack that turns to ominous-sounding boss fight music when you're called on to putt.

Final Fantasy... fore!

From what we've played, it's not exactly the deepest or most challenging golf game out there, but it's a pleasant enough timewaster that'll make you grin if you're looking for something to pass the time between JRPGs.

...especially if you've ever dreamed of owning a set of orichalcum golf clubs.

Dungeons & Golf also features a storyline that involves you helping alien beings known as Golfys (balls) find their way to the Auroras (holes) - but really, you'll just be whacking shots down the links whilst lumbering about in armour or armoured bikinis.

If this sounds like the sort of game you'd like on your iOS or Andrioid device of choice, click the black button below or click here to nab it from Google Play.
