Tank Battle: East Front 1941 is the sequel to Tank Battle: North Africa. As such, the game's dev has shifted its focus to the German invasion of Russia.

There are still loads of tanks in this one, though, so don't worry about that.

Tank Battle: East Front 1941 is built on the same system as its predecessor, albeit with plenty of tweaks and refinements to make for an even richer tanking experience.

Things still take place on a map made of hexagonal tiles, too. This time around, though, it's a more polished affair, with smoother graphics and a slightly different UI.

There's a 16-level campaign split into two chunks here. You can play as the Germans in the Blitzkrieg portion, and as the Russians in the Desperate Defence slice.

There are two pass-the-handset multiplayer missions available, too. You know, if you've got a friend around and fancy some historically accurate tank whomping to pass the time.

With more than 40 different units; a wide range of missions (ranging from straight-up slaughter to capturing key strategic points); and summer and winter terrain to tank over, there's a decent amount of tactical gameplay to sink your teeth into here.

Tank Battle: East Front 1941 is available on the App Store right now, priced £1.49 / $1.99.
