Gbanga Famiglia Rise and Fall is a mafia-based MMO that's about the size of Earth

Gbanga Famiglia Rise and Fall isn't just an unpronounceable title.

It's also a sequel to 2010 game Gbanga Famiglia, with a 3D world and real-world-based MMO space in which to roam.

Like its predecessor, Rise and Fall will have you controlling a mafioso trying to throw its weight around in the city by taking control of bars, restaurants, and clubs.

Cops and crooks

Given Rise and Fall is an MMO, you'll meet other players around the world here and compete for territory with them.

As you do so, the cops will start to get suspicious. So, expect to be involved in fast-paced car chases and to hide from satellites in order to avoid being arrested.

Rise and Fall's world is based on our own. This means, for example, that the long-distance races from San Francisco to New York will take the same time to complete in-game as they take in real life.

You can also lock your in-game character to your own position via your phone's GPS and then simultaneously walk the streets of the game and the real-world streets.

This means that Rise and Fall will have one of the biggest open worlds in a video game. And, yes, it will all be available on just your phone or tablet.

At the moment, Gbanga is looking to raise $60,000 on Indiegogo to fund the continuing development of Rise and Fall. You can get access to the beta phase for $36.
