Those nifty Persona spin-offs for the 3DS & Vita are coming to North America

Atlus dropped a Persona-shaped bombshell on its fans in North America today when it announced that four new Persona games are due out in the months ahead.

And while the big announcement of Persona 5 for the PS3 is certainly nice, it's a bit outside of our coverage here.

Not to worry, however, as both the 3DS and the PS Vita are getting some love.

For 3DS owners, the chibi-fied crossover Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is coming in the autumn of 2014.

This old-school dungeon crawler mixes characters from Persona 3's SEES club with Persona 4's Investigation Team in the "gameplay style of Etrian Odyssey".

Each character's been given a complete visual overhaul to match the Etrian aesthetic before they're tossed into an alternate world resembling Yasogami High School.

As with Etrian Odyssey, the focus of Persona Q will be on exploration - and the choice of protagonists you bring with you will allow you to experience two separate plotlines.

If dungeon crawlers aren't your thing, or if you're on the Vita side of the handheld divide, Atlus isn't leaving you out in the cold.

The decidedly upbeat rhythm game Persona 4: Dancing All Night has been confirmed for a 2015 release window.

Set in the summer following the events of Persona 4, Rise returns to Inaba after reliving her life as an idol. During this time, she hears a rumour about a strange 'Midnight Stage' and gets sucked into a nightmarish world when she decides to check it out.

The Investigation Team quickly comes to her aid, but they have to swap out their battle tactics for dance moves if they hope to defeat the shadows on the Midnight Stage as normal weapons won't work here.

Happily for the rhythm game crowd, these battles will take place over the course of 30 different funk-infused tracks which are made in collaboration with the company behind Hatsune Miku Project Diva.
