Updated on February 27th at 09:20: Demonrock has stomped onto the Google Play Store, so Android gamers can get a taste of the violent reverse tower defence fantasy first-hand.

Best of all, it's free [download].

Original story follows...

Demonrock is a high-fantasy scrapper that's just gone live on the New Zealand App Store. That means it'll be available in the UK and US at midnight tonight.

It's described as a reverse tower defence game, but you could probably get away with calling it a 'simplified single-player MOBA'.

Basically, you pick a hero and tromp off down a lane, killing waves of goblins, orcs, spiders, and dragons by using swords, magic, and bows.

You've got allies to call on, too. They'll merrily march to their deaths to try and chip away at the health bars of the bases and bad guys you've got to attack.

Lane the smackdown

There are 40 levels and four different heroes from which to pick in Demonrock. You'll face off against 30 enemy types, though you can hire mercenaries to give you a hand.

The game should be available on the UK and US App Stores at midnight, and will set you back 69p / 99c.
