[Update] Fives is a free alternative to Threes! for Android gamers

Updated on February 18th, at 18:54: Pocket Gamer has decided to retract this article, as we feel it does not live up to the standards we set ourselves when curating the App Store and Google Play.

Fives is quite clearly an opportunistic Threes! rip-off (right down to including the word "Threes" in its subtitle), and is an obvious attempt to cash in on the success of Asher Vollmer's game while it remains exclusive to iOS.

Pocket Gamer is a fierce defender of original games and a staunch supporter of those doing unique work. We wouldn't like to be seen to be promoting knock-offs and clones, and regret doing so today.

For Android fans who do want to get a hold of Threes!, you should know that Vollmer has listed an Android edition in a recent to-do list posted on Twitter. Hooray.
