If you fancy a first-person shooter that has the comic-style visuals of Borderlands, then look no further than Toxic Origin.

Don't get too excited about the comparison to Borderlands, though. Toxic Origin is a survival shooter and not an RPG hybrid.

That means short levels in which you take on weird toxic-waste mutated creatures with a desert eagle and a shotgun (and plenty more guns).

Take a look at the footage below:

As you can see, those cel-shaded graphics look just as good in motion as they do when still. The "POW" and "BAM" that pop when causing damage to an enemy or shooting an explosive barrel are also nice touches.

However, Toxic Origin look a little slow-moving, don't you think? The shooting seems to be quite meaty due to the sounds and flashes, but the character moves very slow.

That may just be the developer purposely moving slow for demonstration purposes, though. As you can see in the last second of the video, there is a run button if you need to move faster, thankfully.

Toxic Origin will be coming to iPad and Android. If you want to keep an eye on it, then you can do so over on SlideDB.
