This year's BAFTA Games Awards nominations have been announced.

In the main Mobile & Handheld category, six game makers will battle it out to take home the coveted trophy.

In no particular order, DEVICE 6, Badland, Plants vs Zombies 2, Ridiculous Fishing, The Room 2, and Tearaway are up for the proverbial cup.

Or in other words, one Platinum Award winner, three Gold Award winners, a Bronze Award winner, and a 6/10 are in contention. That's a pretty glittering array of Pocket Gamer approval right there.

For my money, the award should go to DEVICE 6. While I was typing this sentence, though, I changed my mind three times.

Other games of note

The wider nominations also make for pretty cheery reading for anyone who likes to game while she's on a bus or hiding under a bush in a park.

Simogo has bagged a couple of other nominations for DEVICE 6, and one for Year Walk. Tearaway has deservedly received more nominations than I can count (eight). Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Rayman Legends have got some love, too.

If you don't believe me, you can check out the full list of nominations on the BAFTA site right here.

We'll let you know who wins what when the awards are handed out on March 14th.
