February isn't just a short month in which you can send creepy letters to people you fancy; it's also the four weeks during which Sony's February sale occurs.

And what a sale it is.

There is a HUGE number of PS Vita games discounted on PSN this month. Some of them are even quite good. Others are rubbish. Do not buy the rubbish ones.

Rather than list them all here, we've just picked out some highlights that you should definitely consider picking up if you haven't already.

If you want the full list of discounted titles, head on over to the EU PlayStation Blog and have a gander.

Tearaway

Top of the tree has to be Media Molecules's papercraft-based Platinum Award-winning Tearaway. In this one, a Vita dev actually makes the most out of the eccentricities of the Vita hardware.

Tearaway will set you back just £12.99, with an extra 10 percent off for PS Plus subscribers.

Except it won't at the moment. That's because it won't actually go on sale until February 19th. A date for your diary all the same.

Hotline Miami

Gory Silver Award-winning top-down massacre simulator Hotline Miami is available for just £2.49 now.

So, yes, you can butcher people to your heart's content in a series of mob hits that spiral into blood-splattered neon madness at a reduced price.

You'll also get an extra ten percent off if you're a PS Plus subscriber. Why aren't you a PS Plus subscriber yet? Silly.

It's a Cross Buy game, too, so you'll end up with a copy for your PS3 when you fork out for the Vita version.

Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection

Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection contains two of the finest stealth-action games the world has even seen. It won a Gold Award when we review it, so go grab it now.

That will cost you £10.31. Which is a really odd price. Again, you'll get an extra ten percent off the price if you're a PS Plus subscriber.

Although you might already own the game if you're a PS Plus subscriber.

Spelunky

Our other recommendation is the brilliant and painfully addictive hardcore platformer Spelunky.

It's another Gold Award winner. In this one, you delve into tombs, Indiana Jones style. It's better than I made it sound then, honest.

Spelunky will set you back a ridiculously cheap £4.79. And this is another Cross Buy title. Ten percent off for PS Plus subscribers, too.

Harry used to be really good at Snake on the Nokia 5110. Apparently though, digital snake wrangling isn't a proper job, so now he writes words about games instead.
