Every month, thousands of new games hit the iOS App Store and Google Play on Android. Trying to find the diamonds in the rough is no easy task, let us assure you.

We like to think we do a pretty good job with our news articles, end-of-week round-ups, expert reviews, and comprehensive features, mind.

But, now we want to know what YOU think.

Today, we're going to ask you to pick the best game that was released on iOS and Android from the past month (from the nominations below). We'll then announce the winner in a glamorous article next Monday.

To vote, either leave a comment at the bottom of this article or paint your choice on the back of some elephants and instruct them to parade past our office window with an oom-pah band.

The nominations
Battle Supremacy (iPad, iPhone) "A shooter that's a lot more hit than miss, Battle Supremacy has enough going for it to keep you playing for a good long while."
Bardbarian (iPad, iPhone) "An intriguing mix of genres that gel together brilliantly, Bardbarian is a breath of fresh air."
Castle Doombad (iPad, iPhone) "A fresh and attractive casual tower defence game that benefits from the sharp interplay between its various units."
Gamebook Adventures 9: Sultans of Rema (iPad, iPhone, Android) "A fast paced and entertaining adventure, once it gets going Sultans of Rema will have you on the edge of your seat."
Rhythm Thief & the Paris Caper (iPad, iPhone) "Rhythm Thief & the Paris Caper is a near-perfect rhythm game held back only by its persistent social integration and always-on connectivity requirements."
Glyph Quest (iPad, iPhone) "Top marks for creativity: Glyph Quest is beautiful to behold and some of its systems of play are intriguingly deep, even if its base play isn't that inventive."
Atomic Fusion: Particle Collider (iPad, iPhone, Android) "A well-put-together anti-shooter, Atomic Fusion: Particle Collider is a rich and rewarding experience."
Lost Yeti (iPad, iPhone) "A rich and rewarding puzzler full of neat ideas, Lost Yeti is well worth searching out."
Cat Basket (iPad, iPhone, Android) "There's not much flash to Cat Basket, but it's a brilliantly fun way to waste a few minutes."
Defenders & Dragons (iPad, iPhone) "Be prepared for a tough but rewarding challenge with Defenders & Dragons, one that emerges from a deceptively simple tug of war setup."
Hypership Still Out of Control (iPad, iPhone) "An engaging and easy-to-play arcade burst with a hard and challenging core, Hypership Still Out of Control doesn't do enough to differentiate itself from its predecessor."
Joe Danger Infinity (iPad, iPhone) "Joe Danger Infinity is another top auto-runner from Hello Games with style and bucketloads of content, but it's way too similar to last year's offering."
Lollipop 3: Eggs of Doom (iPad, iPhone) "Lollipop 3: Eggs of Doom is smashing fun, though the experience cools off as quickly as breakfast left on the table."
Hoplite (iPad, iPhone, Android) "An incredible, ever-changing blend of dungeon-crawling and tactical puzzles, Hoplite may lack a little longevity but it's impressively entertaining while it lasts."
Lyne (iPad, iPhone, Android) "Lyne is a slick, contemplative puzzler that you'd be a fool to miss."
Shadow Blade (iPad, iPhone) "A vibrant, fast-paced, special platformer that works perfectly on touchscreen, Shadow Blade is well worth as much of your time as you have to spare."
Detective Grimoire (iPad, iPhone) "Detective Grimoire goes a long way towards involving you in a funny, wacky cartoon murder mystery. But the case is not quite as complex as you might hope."

Harry used to be really good at Snake on the Nokia 5110. Apparently though, digital snake wrangling isn't a proper job, so now he writes words about games instead.
