John Woo's debut mobile game, Bloodstroke, is out in New Zealand right now, which means it'll be touching down in the UK and US at midnight tonight.

It's a violent action thriller in which you play as Mai Lee, a bodyguard out to protect her charge at any cost.

Cue lots of tapping, swiping, and overwhelmingly gory violence as you cut a swathe through hoods, goons, and other assorted bad guys.

The game is presented in stark black and white, with red squirts and squelches of blood the only colour. There are comic book panel story sections penned by Woo here, too, and an original soundtrack by Far East Movement.

Bloodstroke should go live on the UK and US App Stores at midnight tonight, and will set you back £1.99 / $2.99.
