Master the art of camouflage in stylish and free iPhone stealth puzzler Vyde

Vyde is a new free and stylish top-down stealth game for iPhone. Oh, and it's pretty darn neat.

Instead of using sound or light as the basis for its stealth mechanics, the creator of Vyde makes great use of coloured tiles.

You'll start off as a square of a certain colour. If you're stood inside the areas marked out on the floor that are a similar colour to you, then you can't be seen. However, if one of the patrols bumps into you, it will spot you.

If you're stood in an area that's the exact same colour as your square, then you can't even be bumped off by the guards. You're completely untraceable.

But you can't stay camouflaged forever, for your goal across the 80 levels of Vyde is to reach the end of the level. Between you and that goal, there will be plenty of other coloured areas with which you clash, meaning you're easily spotted.

To complete the game's ultimate challenge, you'll need to collect as many coins as possible and grab the intelligence before exiting the level.

Vyde is a little awkward to play at the start, as it takes a while for it to become clear on a level that you're in a safe spot.

But once you get to grips with Vyde, it turns out to be a great quick-fire stealth game.
