Location-based Android game Ingress is now available on Google Play
Took your time
Google startup Niantic Labs has just taken its free-to-play location-based augmented reality game Ingress out of beta and launched it on the Google Play Store.
In Ingress, two teams of players race against each other to collect virtual resources from real locations in order to take over as much territory as possible.
The game has been available for the past year in beta form as a free-to-play experience. Niantic may tinker with the F2P nature of the game in future, though, as the studio is testing out the current sponsorship model as I type.
You can download Ingress from Google Play right now for free. It's expected to surface on iPhone and iPad in 2014.
