Award-winning Corpse Party: Book of Shadows due out for iOS in Japan this month

The Silver Award-winning Corpse Party: Book of Shadows is making the leap from PSN to iOS in Japan this month.

Siliconera reports that publisher 5pb announced the iOS version will contain all seven episodes of Book of Shadows but it hasn't disclosed a price for the mobile version yet.

The original Corpse Party is currently available on the App Store for $21.99 / £15.49 – albeit in the original Japanese

Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, PS Vita

While Corpse Party: Book of Shadows might seem like an odd fit for iOS devices, visual novels - which prioritise reading and decision making over fast-paced gameplay - are well-suited to touchscreen devices.

In our review of Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, we noted that it delivered "tremendous gameplay enhancements" over the original Corpse Party with the most notable being the ability to fast-forward through dialogue you've already read.

It's unclear if Book of Shadows will make its way to western App Stores at this point - or if it'll be translated from Japanese if it does - but we'll keep you updated either way.
