Mutant Mudds Deluxe heading to Vita on December 17th in US

Renegade Kid is making far too many games at the moment.

Just off the top of my head, I can think of three Renegade Kid games in the works: Mutant Mudds 2, Treasurenauts, and Cult County.

It's not too surprising, then, to read that the developer has just had to postpone the release of a couple of these to 2014.

Treasurenauts

Writing on his blog, Renegade Kid's Jools Watsham confirmed that Treasurenauts needs more work before it's ready for the 3DS eShop. It's now been delayed until 2014.

But we already expected to have to wait, so that's not too much of a worry.

Mutant Mudds Deluxe

I suspect that part of the reason for the abovementioned Treasurenauts delay is the fact that Mutant Mudds Deluxe is heading to PS3 and PS Vita.

This Bronze Award-winning action-platformer will be available on the North American PSN on December 17th (priced $9.99). It will feature Cross-Buy and Cross-Save, so you only have to purchase it once if you intend to play it on PS3 and Vita.

"Delays in Europe for this, and Wii U, are due to the cost and logistical hassle of submitting to the many age rating companies in Europe," Watsham noted.

"These companies really need to learn from the ESRB, who offer a free and fast on-line service to rate indie games."

The Deluxe version of Mutant Mudds contains 20 extra CGA-Land bonus levels. You'll also get a wider view of things so you that can see upcoming hazards more easily.

3DS players who own Mutant Mudds should expect a free update to the Deluxe version in 2014.

Mutant Mudds 2

Furthermore, Watsham has announced that Mutant Mudds 2 has been put on hold for now.

He just feels Renegade Kid needs a break between the original game and the sequel so it can "maintain perspective" on how the sequel will be better.

Cult County

Cult County

Lastly, Renegade Kid's survival-horror game Cult County continues to be iterated in the studio's labs.

Watsham noted that Renegade Kid officially announced this game very early on its development, so it's still a way off from being finished.

As such, Cult County may not be available on the 3DS eShop until after 2014.
