We love Spelunky on the PS Vita here at Pocket Gamer's randomly generated underground cave system.

We love it so much, in fact, we gave it a Gold Award when we reviewed it. We only bemoaned the absence of the PC's Daily Challenge mode in the portable version.

Well, our moaning days are over. That's because Daily Challenges have hit the PS Vita like a bolt from the blue.

The challenges are super-tough one-chance trials that only the very best Spelunky players are going to be able to complete. Die on a challenge and that's your lot - you're going to have to wait until tomorrow to try the next test.

It adds a shock of spicy difficulty to proceedings, and turns one of the tensest platforming experiences on a handheld into THE tensest platforming experience on a handheld.

These Daily Challenges are part of a newly released free update to Spelunky. Mossmouth has also resolved some slowdown issues with the game and smoothed the rough edges off.

If you haven't played Spelunky yet, then shame on you. But now is as good a time as any to jump on the cave-clambering bandwagon.

Or as Mike put it in his review: "Play Spelunky. That is all."
