More buttons means more gaming

Apple-approved MFi controllers are like London buses. You wait for one... only for two to come along at once.

In addition to being able to purchase the MOGA Ace Power iPhone controller, then, you can now pre-order the Logitech PowerShell Controller for £89.99 / $99.99.

For your money, you get a long thin slab of shiny plastic with a selection of buttons on it. There are, at my count, fewer buttons on Logitech's peripheral than you'd find on the aforementioned MOGA controller, though.

Just one D-pad, four face buttons, and a couple of triggers, in fact. There's no pull-out-to-fit mechanic here, either - your iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, or fifth-gen iPod touch just slips neatly into the casing. Apparently.

There's an integrated 1500mAH battery in the PowerShell, by the way, so your iPhone or iPod can suck up some juice while you play.

The £89.99 / $99.99 price point for the Logitech PowerShell Controller does seem a little steep, mind. Especially when you consider that for the same money as a sim-free iPhone 5S and a PowerShell Controller you could buy a PS Vita, a 3DS, a Google Nexus 5, and still have cash left over for a decent meal. And you'd have way more buttons.

Still, you really should check out our list of the best iPhone games with iOS 7 controller support, and have a nosy at our hands-on with the MOGA Ace Power controller.

You can pre-order the Logitech PowerShell Controller directly from Logitech by clicking here.
