A rather colourful indie puzzler snuck onto the App Store last week while we were all going gaga over Oceanhorn and Stealth Inc.

This puzzler - Flux Free - is an interesting mash-up of elementary colour theory with the classic arcade gameplay of Snake. The goal for each grid-based level is to connect lines to shapes of the same colour (blue to blue, yellow to yellow, etc.)

These lines are persistent, however, and crossing a line of one colour over an existing line will change the current line's colour accordingly. So, if you trace blue over yellow you'll wind up with green.

As you'd expect with a simple game like this, the early levels are a breeze but the later levels become an exercise in puzzling and planning as you map out how best to navigate the 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7, and 8x8 grid boards.

Flux Free is, as the name suggests, free to download and comes with 200 puzzles for you to colour your way through. Pro Packs are available for purchase, with a grand total of 800 hand-designed boards available for your puzzling pleasure.

If this sounds like the sort of game you'd like on your iOS device of choice, click on the button below to bring a bit of Flux Free into your life.
