Towelfight 2: The Monocle of Destiny has gone free-to-play to help in dev Sam Coster's battle with cancer
I hate cancer
Cancer is awful.
Which is why it's upsetting to learn that Sam Coster, one half of Silver Award-winning Towelfight 2: The Monocle of Destiny developer Butterscotch Shenanigans, has it.
In an effort to keep the company going while the 23-year-old co-designer attempts to "beat the shit out of cancer", Butterscotch Shenanigans has decided to make Towelfight 2 free-to-play.
In fact, the game is already a F2P experience on Google Play. The iOS version will be a free-to-play game soon, too.
As you would expect, Butterscotch Shenanigans has made some UI tweaks to Towelfight 2 to make it more free-to-play 'friendly'.
The team is also stripping back new game Slothcycling a little to make it more of an endless-platformer and less of the adventure game it was originally planned to be. We'll let you know more about that when we hear anything more concrete.
Our thoughts are, of course, with Sam and his family right now, so we wish him, and them, all the best for the coming difficult months.
