Leisurerules takes free-to-play in a different direction with a donation button in Aliens versus Humans: Missions

Aliens versus Humans: Missions is out on the App Store right now. And its maker, Leisurerules, is taking an interesting approach to the free-to-play model here.

The game itself resembles classic multiplayer XCOM. There are three PvP modes in which you can engage, all handled through Game Center.

Rather than invite you to spend cash on IAP items that might alter the balance of the game, though, Leisurerules has stuck a 'donate' button in the game.

If you're enjoying the multiplayer but don't fancy forking out for extra single-player missions (or buying the full Aliens versus Humans game), you can just 'donate' 69p / 99c out of the goodness of your heart.

The game is retro to its core. And anyone willing to put some time and effort into learning what all the buttons do will find a pretty in-depth strategy experience here.
