If you're in the market for a highly competitive two-player game for your iPad, it might be worth picking up Dark Day LA from your local App Store at midnight tonight.

One player takes on the role of a vampire who stalks the dark city streets for human prey.

The other is a police sniper whose objective is to take the vampire out.

The vampire has the distinct advantage of being able to blend in with nearby humans. Alas, the vampire will leave bloodied corpses behind after consuming them.

The sniper has to pay attention to these corpses and any suspicious vampire-like behaviour if she's to complete her objective. When ready, the sniper takes her match-deciding shot at her chief vampire suspect.

Dark Day LA can be played in full screen so that both players can sit next to each other. A split-screen option, meanwhile, enables you to go head-to-head... literally.

Dark Day LA will surface on the UK and US App Stores at midnight, priced £1.49 / $1.99.
