Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies is set to swoop onto iPad and iPhone next week

Here at Pocket Gamer's air traffic control tower, we're all big fans of Sid Meier's Ace Patrol.

So much so, in fact, that we gave this mash-up of turn-based strategy and boardgame a Gold Award.

You can imagine how excited we all were, then, when we heard that there was a sequel in the works. If you imagined 'quite excited', then you were right.

Guess what? We've now got the release date and price point for that sequel, which goes by the name of Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies.

Firaxis and 2K Games's WWII plane-based battler will swoop onto the App Store on November 7th, and will set you back £2.99 / $4.99.

You can expect dogfighting missions across Pearl Harbour, Midway, and Guadalcanal. Oh, and tweaked AI, new planes to fly, and new manoeuvres to master.

We can hardly wait.
