Celebrate the 30th birthday of cave-dwelling plaformer Spelunker with Everyday Spelunker for iPad and iPhone

MicroGraphicImage and Tim Martin's classic Atari platformer Spelunker is 30 years old this year.

To celebrate that fact, Tozai Games has ported the original game to iOS in the shape of Everyday Spelunker.

This iOS port is actually an adaptation of the 1987 NES version of Spelunker. Still, what's four years between friends, eh.

For those of you unfamiliar with the original Spelunker, Everyday Spelunker involves your descending colossal caves to reach treasure at the bottom.

Hazardous

The explorer you play as in Everyday Spelunker can't fall from a great height. When reaching a drop, he falls straight down rather than being able to jump across.

You'll also have to replenish the explorer's air supply, lest he dies from oxygen starvation. Other hazards include large bats, spiders, snakes, and a ghost that tries to drag you to the Shadow World.

Everyday Spelunker is currently available for £2.99 / $3.99 on the App Store. It'll be available on Android soon.

If you want more, you can buy the new levels in Episode 2: Deep into Another Mine and Episode 3: New Challenges for 69p / 99c each as in-app purchases.
