German developer Fishlabs has slashed the price of the IAPs in free-to-play space shooter Galaxy on Fire 2 HD after announcing that the company had to lay off 25 employees.

The game's first expansion pack, Valkyrie, is now available for half price at £1.99 / $2.99.

In this piece of DLC, there's a new storyline, ships, star systems, planets, weapons, and characters. It also includes automatic turrets, the ability to slow down time, and player-controlled missiles.

In our review of this DLC, we said: "Featuring new ships, characters, storylines, weapons, and graphical flourishes, Valkyrie is a successful expansion to the Galaxy on Fire 2 universe."

Second update Supernova is also available at half cost. It will now set you back £2.49 / $3.99.

With this massive expansion, you get a whole host of new locations, characters, ships, weapons, and equipment. It also includes new hacking, bounty-hunting, and plasma-harvesting missions.

In our review of this DLC, we said: "Supernova continues the fine Galaxy on Fire 2 formula without adding anything radically new. It continues to be tough, beautiful and oh-so-engrossing, and there's still very little to rival it."

If you like the sound of both, you can get them in a bundle for £2.99 / $4.99. You can also top up your in-game coffers with 10 million credits for £17.49 / $24.99. All these sales are available in the iOS, Android, and Mac versions of the game.

The sale comes in the wake of a recent company restructuring, the result of which was 25 employees being laid off.

"This has been the most difficult day in the history of our studio," Michael Schade, CEO of Fishlabs Entertainment, said.

Fishlabs's massively multiplayer RTS Galaxy on Fire - Alliances is still in the works, and will be out in early 2014.
