The Lego Star Wars games are heading to iOS and Android next year

This probably isn't a surprise to anyone, but it looks like the Lego Star Wars games are heading to iOS and Android next year.

The news comes from Star Wars fan site Jedi News. It spotted the games on a list of upcoming Star Wars project at the depressingly titled Brand Licensing Europe Expo last week.

This won't be the first time Lego and Star Wars have been crammed together on the App Store, with Lego Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles hitting iPad and iPhone earlier in the year. And being a bit rubbish.

Use the Lego powered force to move the Star Wars brand blocklets

After the success of the Lego Harry Potter and Lego Batman games on touchscreen devices, it's far from a shock to see that the games that first reinvigorated digital Lego hitting the App Store too.

Traveller's Tales set the template for their other Lego tie-ins with the Star Wars games, filling them with jokes, stud collecting, and a heart-warming core of nostalgic merchandising opportunities.

It looks like the games will be landing in spring/summer 2014, but we'll keep you posted with more details as soon as we get them.

Harry used to be really good at Snake on the Nokia 5110. Apparently though, digital snake wrangling isn't a proper job, so now he writes words about games instead.
