Out at midnight: Finish your Runaway collection with The Dream of the Turtle on iOS

This evening, Bulkypix will drop 2006 PC point-and-clicker Runaway: The Dream of the Turtle onto the App Store.

Before you ask, this Spain-made adventure has the honour of being the best of Pendulo's Runaway trilogy.

That's not saying much, though.

We said that "you'll be disappointed if you're expecting more than a shallow fling" from Runaway: A Road Adventure, and raked Runaway: A Twist of Fate over the coals for the "shoddy puzzle design and cringeworthy comedy".

Aloha

But this second Runaway game - in which Brian is on the hunt for girlfriend Gina during a holiday in Hawaii - contains some of the better puzzles, locations, and characters from this much-maligned franchise.

I can't recommend it wholeheartedly, but if you dig point-and-click games and you're craving something new to play on your iPhone or iPad, grabbing Runaway 2 won't be the worst decision you've ever made in your life.

Runaway

This iOS version has a hint system, by the way. And you can choose to have subtitles in English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian.

Runaway: The Dream of the Turtle is a whopping 1.8GB download - you'll need nearly 4GB of space to install it. You'll also need at least an iPad 2, iPhone 4, or fifth-gen iPod touch to run it.

This first half of the game will cost £2.49 / $3.99. Part two will follow along shortly.
