Bear-thwacking beat-'em-up Fist of Awesome goes live for iOS and Android
For Ouya and GameStick, too
Beard-wearing gamers of the world: rejoice!
Bear-punching, time-travelling side-scrolling pixel-art epic Fist of Awesome is out now on iOS, Android, Ouya, and GameStick.
In this game, you lead confused lumberjack Tim Burr through a hellish world somehow overrun by woodland creatures.
Your only companion is your fist, which has got all big and can talk for some reason. It's up to you to use your new powers, punch a lot of deer, and save the day.
With this game, the dev pays a good deal of homage to the side-scrolling beat-'em-ups of the 16-bit era, albeit with controls designed for the touchscreen age.
So, your punches are swipes and taps rather than button presses. But there's still a meaty core to the violence that'll have most gamers grinning from ear to ear.
Fist of Awesome is available right now from the App Store for £2.49 / $3.99 [buy] and from the Google Play Store for the same price [buy].
You can also pick it up on Ouya and GameStick, if you prefer gaming on your TV and using physical buttons.
