As a Nintendo 3DS developer, you'd be foolish to release a game on the eShop this week.

That's because the latest behemoth pair of Pokemon titles are about to land, and all other 3DS games are going to be forgotten for at least the next month or so.

And indeed, there isn't really anything new other than Pokemon at all. There are, however, plenty of price reductions and sales, which is nice.

Let's check it all out then, shall we?

European eShop releases

The big ones, then: Pokemon X & Y are both out this week from Saturday, and can be purchased from the eShop for £39.99.

Should you buy either of these games? Well, let me ask you a different question: Do you like video games? Whatever your answer is to that second question, should be the same answer to the original question.

To put it more bluntly: yes, you should be grabbing a copy of this game whether you like your old Pocket Monsters or not. It's an utterly fantastic, expansive, bulging game that deserves to be played by everyone.

Pokemon isn't the only good game on the eShop this week, though. You can now get the wonderful Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked via the eShop - that costs £29.99.

Otherwise, there's Hot Wheels World's Best Driver for £24.99 which, honestly, I'm not expecting great things from. Prove me wrong, Warner Bros!

In terms of sales, the awful Block Factory is now £2.49, while Viking Invasion 2 - Tower Defense is £6.29. There's a bunch of other lowkey titles on sale too - best to head to the eShop to see if anything takes your fancy.

US eShop releases

Apart from the aforementioned Pokemon X & Y for $49.99, and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked for $39.99, the US store also has Wave Race 'em up Aqua Moto Racing 3D for $5.99.

Meanwhile, the terrible Super Black Bass 3D is now out, while Escape From Zombie City has also blasted onto the store, kicking and screaming all the way.

And that's your lot this week. Enjoy Pokemon, you lucky people.
