Perfect Hit! and Finding Teddy are heading the Quality Index's Top 10 rated iOS and Android games of September 2013
|

If you were wondering what the best-reviewed iOS and 'droid games on the web last month were, here are the iPhone Quality Index, iPad Quality Index, and Android Quality Index round-ups for September to fill you in.

The iPhone, iPad, and Android Quality Indexes boast over 650,000 reviews (in total) from websites like 148Apps, Pocket Gamer, and Gamezebo, and use a unique metric to create a single definitive score for each iOS and Android title.

Bowled over

Whether we're talking skittles, bowling, or Jenga, the simple fact remains that we all love knocking stuff over.

It's no surprise to discover, then, that Perfect Hit! tops the September iPhone Qi (and iPad Qi) game chart with its bright 3D graphics and impeccably solid physics.

Heroes of Loot also had a good month, with OrangePixel seamlessly combining elements of roguelike RPGs and arcade shooters here.

If we were handing out awards for style, Graveck's Strata would be the undisputed #1 game for September. As it is, it's a worthy #5 thanks to the refreshing ribbon-based take on the casual puzzle genre. Following closely behind, Junk Jack X has built quite a name for 'itself'. Yes, that was a (truly awful) pun. And, no, I don't care. In the game itself, you have to construct, forage, and explore your way to victory.

Don't let Finding Teddy's cute name and graphics fool you.

LookAtMyGame's, err, game tops the September Android Qi game chart through some challenging hands-off point-and-click adventuring.

Following closely behind is Reaper, the latest offering from prolific Android developer Hexage.

This time around, the company adds its typically fresh spin to the action-RPG genre.

EA's FIFA 14, meanwhile, has to settle for eight place on this month's 'droid premier league games table.

In the newest iteration of EA's long-running footy sim series, the gaming titan adds a generous freemium structure and unusual single-finger controls to the usual team and player updates.

N.B. While we only display the average score to one decimal place, the lists are generated to further significant figures. We just don't show them all. And, naturally, these are static graphs based on live listings which are subject to constant change as new releases and reviews emerge.

In order to provide a regular marker of the critical zeitgeist, however, we will continue to round up the best of the iOS and Android games released each month to provide the definitive Quality Index top tens.
