Nintendo launches two-pronged assault on NYC with Pokemon X & Y event and New York Comic Con line-up

The weekend of October 11 - 13 is going to be a busy one for Nintendo fans in New York City, as the big N is going all out for New York Comic Con and the release of Pokemon X & Y.

So what's Nintendo got planned for Comic Con?

Nothing short of a special developer presentation by The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma on Friday October 11 at 2:45 pm.

Outside of that, and outside of the Javits Center, Nintendo is also springing for a gigantic sandcastle recreation of Windfall Island to celebrate the launch of Wind Waker HD for the Wii U.

If you're planning to head to Comic Con, you can also score some hands-on time with upcoming 3DS releases like Pokemon X & Y, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Mario Party: Island Tour, Sonic Lost World, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies.

Meanwhile, on the other side of Manhattan, Nintendo is also hosting a special midnight launch event at the Nintendo World Store to celebrate the global release of Pokemon X & Y.

The event kicks off at 8pm on the night of October 11, and lasts until 1am on the morning of the 12.

Sure you could come to the event just to see the Pokemon costume contest, grab some free stuff form the giveaways, or snap a picture with Pikachu, but you can also be among the first in America to buy Pokemon X & Y when it goes on sale at the stroke of midnight.
