Calculords is a rather clever space-themed card battler for iOS from internet comedian Seanbaby

Calculords better be funny.

You see, Calculords is the pet project of veteran internet funnyman Seanbaby. Yep, he of Seanbaby.com and Electronic Gaming Monthly fame.

The focus of Calculords appears to be clever "number puzzle" battling rather than big gags, though.

Which is probably a good thing. It means that the core mechanics of this card battler come first. And Seanbaby's silly jokes about aliens and space come next.

When battling the various alien beasties, you'll be dealt cards and numbers. The cards in your deck have a number on them. With the numbers given to you, you have to construct a sum that results in that number.

Once you've done that, you can use that card.

However, if you're able to use all of the numbers dealt to you to create a longer sum and get to that number, you'll be given a Calculords Bonus. This gives you more numbers so you can cast more cards.

With your cards cast, you then have to place them across the three lanes of the battlefield. The goal is to blast through the enemy lines and defeat its base.

Calculords's undeniably pretty pixels make it a treat to look at. Throw in a bizarre space setting from the mind of a notoriously caustic comedian, and you've got a potentially intriguing title here.
