Our Worms 3 Gamer X competition is definitely heating up.

Even so, the game's Body Count mode seems to be proving more of a challenge than many of you can handle.

Because of this, I decided to enlist the help of Worms 3 creator Team17 for some invaluable tips.

We've gone above and beyond the call of duty for this guide, with sensational tricks from not one but two members of the Team17... uh... team.

Tips 6-10 come courtesy of Worms guru (and PR peep) Bethany Aston. Tips 1-5, meanwhile, are from Grant Towell, the lead designer of Worms 3.

So, take heed of their sage advice, commit it to memory, head to the battlefield and, when you're ready, take part in our Gamer X competition.

1. Clock-watch! Always keep an eye on that clock and make sure you can retreat into cover once you've fired your shot off. Leaving your worms out in the open is a big no-no. 2. Be a thief! Try to collect any crates that appear within a certain vicinity that you feel you can get to without hurting your worms. Take all available help you can use to your advantage. 3. Save it! If you can, try to keep the more 'easy kill' weaponry for when you really need it. Don't be foolish and burn through your strike and homing weaponry for relatively straightforward kills. 4. Stay Safe! Make sure you keep a reasonable distance between you and your opponents. You don't want to make yourself an easy target now, do you? 5. Wind! Keep an eye on the wind indicator so that your shots don't get blown off-course. 6. What a Card! Why not take a few strategic playing cards into the Body Count match with you? You could gain another kill for your streak via a cheeky Solar Flare without using any weapons. Solar Flare is a funky card that heats up all landscape hazards (e.g. Mines) and causes them to explode. 7. Use the Fuse! Don't forget that Grenade family weapons (Grenade, Cluster Bomb, Banana Bomb, etc.) all have a customisable fuse timer. Simply press the bomb to change the fuse timer from 1-5 seconds depending on the shot you are trying to make. 8. Top of the Class! When you're in the 'Body Count' menu, simply tap your team name to decide which class of Worm will be undertaking the Gamer X challenge for you. Each has its disadvantages and advantages, so will you use the Soldier, Scientist, Scout, or Heavy? 9. Know Your Weapons! See two Worms sitting pretty with 10 health apiece? Don't be hasty and waste a Dynamite too soon. Instead, kill both worms with the same stone (or Shotgun, in this case). You can get to grips with the Weapons in a Quick Game. 10. Be in it to win it! As daft as it sounds, we'd recommend your actively checking the Gamer X competition and the leaderboards. Don't post a decent score on day one and think that will be enough to claim the victory and the goodies. You may be beaten later down the line. All the team here are right behind you all. Good luck!

Got everything you need to know? Reckon you can bust out a high score? Then, head on over to our Gamer X competition for Worms 3 and show the world how great you are.
