Over at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony has confirmed that there will be a sequel to Silver Award-winning action-platformer hybrid thing Gravity Rush.

This is probably the best news all day.

The original, which is free to PS Plus members, is a gorgeous anime-style romp through a floating city that's falling apart.

In the sequel, Sony looks set to continue down that path, with the heroine of the first game, Kat, once again ignoring the laws of physics as she warps gravity to her own ends in the trailer below.

There was a breathless sense of exploration to the first game. You were positively encouraged to run, fly, and flip around the city, twisting which direction was down whenever you fancied.

At review, we called the game "bold and unique", adding that "Gravity Rush is a strong PS Vita release that gets better and better the more you play it".

We've no word on a release date yet for Gravity Rush 2, but we do know that it will be heading to PS Vita. I, for one, cannot wait.
