This week on the PS Vita Store: A massive sense of déjà vu

My round-up of new Vita downloadables this week looks very much like a repeat of last week's.

That's because the games that came out in Europe last week are now out in the US... and vice versa. We've done a little swapsee, if you catch my drift.

But there are SOME other bits and pieces for you to check out, including a vast number of new PS Mobile games... although they may not be as they first appear.

Here's what you can expect this week.

Full-price releases

Rayman Legends has actually been available on PS Vita since late last week. Released early by accident, perhaps? We have no idea, to be honest.

All we know is that it's a lovely platformer that follows on from the original Rayman Origins. It's just the sort of game that the PS Vita very much needs.

Okay, so it's a little cutdown and inferior compared to the console versions of the game, but the Vita edition is still fun. It'll cost you £29.99.

In the US, you can now bag the fantastic Killzone: Mercenary for $35.99. It's the latest in the Killzone first-person shooter franchise, and it's the first on PS Vita.

It's also the best first-person shooter on PS Vita by far, our Mark reckons. You're a gun for hire, so expect to find yourself fighting alongside both the good guys and the Helghast. If you're into your shooters, get it downloaded now.

Dragon Fantasy Book I
was good, but not great. Here's hoping that Dragon Fantasy Book II will tickle our collective fancies a little more. It costs $14.99.

There's also KickBeat for £7.29, Sparkle for £3.99, and something called Aabs Animals for £3.99.

As for DLC, there are a few new tables for Pinball Arcade, a new free quest for Soul Sacrifice, and some costumes for LittleBigPlanet.

Sales, price drops, and PS Plus

In terms of PS Plus promotions, all you can look forward to this week is a couple of discounts, including $3.00 off Dragon Fantasy Book II and $1.50 off the awful Doodle God.

And, well, that's about it. There are no price cuts or sales this week, so you cheapskates will have to look elsewhere for bargains.

PlayStation Mobile releases

There are lots of new downloadable games that start with the letter 'A' this week. I cannot explain this phenomenon, unfortunately.

In Alien Domination, you play a ninja who is drafted in to stop an alien invasion. Obviously. That's a mighty £4.79. More aliens can be found in AlienMission, priced at a whopping £5.19.

Alligator of the Caribbean has a fantastic name, but it doesn't look like a very good platformer. That's £4.79. Wow, the games are expensive this week, huh.

AnimalCrush is a match-three game for - WTH? - £5.19, while Apocalypse Revelations is... another platformer for £4.79. What is going on here?

Athenian Warrior is ANOTHER platformer, and suspiciously appears to be in the very same style as all the other releases this week. That costs £4.79, too.

So does Attack of the Black Widow.

Hang about! All of these games were created by the same studio, Denysoft, and they all look incredibly similar to one another. Hmmmm.

Oh, and if Denysoft has just launched a ton of games that start with the letter 'A', do you think we're going to get the 'B' barrage next week? Crumbs.

At least Hills of Glory: WWII looks a bit different from the rest. We thought it was "an entertaining tower defence romp" upon reviewing it earlier this year on Android. That's £1.59.

Back again next week!
