[Update] Out now: Raid pixel-art dungeons in OrangePixel's Heroes of Loot for iOS
Loot-enanny (Updated: Out now on Google Play, too)
There's a free ad-supported version [download], or a paid version without the adverts that'll set you back £1.72 [buy].
Original story follows...
What happens if you take a Zelda-style dungeon-crawler and mash it together with a twin-stick shooter?
Heroes of Loot is what happens.
And if that opening sentence has piqued your interest, you'll be glad to read that OrangePixel's joke-riddled monster slayer will be out on the UK and US App Stores at midnight tonight.
For those not in the 'know', OrangePixel is the dev behind the Silver Award-winning Gunslugs and the Bronze Award-winning Meganoid 2.
In Heroes of Loot, though, there are four different classes from which to choose, each with its own attributes and skills. Once you've made your choice, you smash and slash your way through the dank underground caverns.
The more successful you are in your underground adventures, the tougher these caverns become to overcome. Yep, the randomly generated levels end up absolutely crammed full of cute pixel-art enemies.
There are potions to grab; special quests to complete; and piles and piles of gold and gems to collect as you lead your hero on a bloody search for loot.
Throw in some leaderboards and achievements, and you've got a pretty impressive arcade package that's full of good humour and plenty of violence.
Heroes of Loot will be out at midnight tonight in the UK and US. It'll set you back £1.49 / $1.99.
