The Android version of the oft-delayed Kickstarter-funded space adventure Star Command should be available on the Google Play Store later this month.

That's according to a tweet from Star Command developer War Balloon Games. Apparently, you can do some maths to work out a more specific date. We're not very good at maths, though.

Saying that, War Balloon Games isn't very good at release dates, so we're putting this very much on the 'believe it when we see it' pile.

The Android version of Star Command should surface on Google Play with the updates that the iOS game has already received, as well as some new bits and bobs to make the experience even more special.

War Balloon Games will update the iOS version of the game with these fresh additions on or around the same day that the Android version lands on Google Play.

At review, we gave the iOS version a Bronze Award, saying "while blasting aliens out of the sky can be fun, Star Command lacks the depth of a true space sim."

It'll be interesting to see if War Balloon Games has fixed the problems we had with the intriguing but flawed initial iOS release in the imminent Android version.

We'll let you know when Star Command materialises on the Google Play Store.
