Europe to get Bravely Default: Flying Fairy in 2013, while Japan receives expanded For the Sequel version this autumn

Those looking forward to Square Enix's Bravely Default: Flying Fairy received a mix bag of news on Wednesday.

For starters, Nintendo of Europe confirmed via Twitter that Bravely Default would make its way to Europe in 2013 as officially announced.

With a little less than three months left in the year, however, many fans are skeptical of this release date as there's been a noticeable lack of translated trailers or promotional material for the game to date.

Flying to the sequel?

Meanwhile, Square Enix took to the popular Jump magazine to announce an expanded version of the popular turn-based RPG, Bravely Default: For the Sequel.

This expanded edition features new story events, control schemes, three save slots, selectable difficulty levels, and the ability to use an auto-mode for faster battles.

Players will be able to use their original save data from Bravely Default: Flying Fairy in For the Sequel - so it's really more of a continuation of the original story than a sequel as its title suggests.

There has been no announcement on when or if For the Sequel will make its way to the west. Square Enix plans to release Bravely Default: For the Sequel this autumn in Japan at the price of ¥ 4,990 (~$50 / £32) at retail or ¥ 2,990 (~$30 / £19) via the eShop.
