New missions and controller support for Gold Award-winning shooter Halo: Spartan Assault tomorrow

Gold Award-winning top-down twin-stick shooter Halo: Spartan Assault will be updated tomorrow with new content in the shape of the Operation Hydra expansion.

The new update will contain five fresh missions and new achievements for those looking to boost their Gamerscore.

The imminent update will also make some power weapons that were previously only available as IAPs purchasable with the XP you earn by playing.

Furthermore, Windows 8 players will finally be able to play the game using a wired Xbox 360 controller.

Halo, new content

In the Operation Hydra expansion, you'll once again play as Sarah Palmer, who has to venture into the core of Draetheus V's moon to try and find the source of an alien signal.

At review, we said that "if you own a device that can run Halo: Spartan Assault, you should definitely give it a try."

The Operation Hydra expansion will be available tomorrow, and it won't cost you a single penny.
