Gamescom '13: Sports Interactive preparing to score on Vita with Football Manager Classic 2014

Fans of sheepskin coats, tactical nous, and the PS Vita have got something to celebrate today.

That's because Sports Interactive's Football Manager Classic 2014 will soon be 'kicking off' on Sony's delightful little handheld console.

That announcement was made during Sony's Gamescom press conference last night. Since then, however, Miles Jacobson, the studio director of Sports Interactive, has provided more details over on the EU PlayStation Blog.

Perhaps the most interesting slice of information about the game is the fact it'll be a cross-platform experience. You'll be able to play a game on your PC, save it to the cloud, and pick it up on your PS Vita. Pretty darn cool, yeah.

Football Manager Classic 2014 will also feature a full 3D match engine, meaning you'll be able to see if your plans and strategies work out in something resembling a real game of football.

Furthermore, Jacobson promises realistic transfers, a full tactics module, clever AI, and dozens of real-world leagues.

It's Football Manager in your pocket, then, which is a pretty exciting development for any budding Jose Mourinho out there.

We will, of course, keep you updated with Football Manager Classic 2014 news as and when we hear it.
