I once accidentally stole a Lone Wolf book from a mobile library. Racked with guilt, I hid the offending item behind my bookshelf, then gave it to a charity shop to redress the cosmic karmic balance.

I tell you this because Forge Reply has released a new trailer for its upcoming digital adaptation of Joe Dever's classic gamebook series. And it's looking pretty special.

While the core of the reading experience is kept intact in this new digital Joe Dever game, there's also room here for 3D turn-based combat, quick time events, and lock picking mini-games.

Right? Exactly.

It looks like a combination of Infinity Blade and Tin Man Games's Fighting Fantasy books. It looks dark, it looks fresh, and it looks like it's going to usher in the next generation of digital gamebooks.

Joe Dever's Lone Wolf - Blood on the Snow is split into four chapters, with the first of these set to hit the App Store and the Google Play Store in November.

We'll update you when we find out more details about Joe Dever's Lone Wolf - Blood on the Snow's price and release date.
