A bit BASIC this week

It's a pretty pitiful week in terms of new downloadable releases for the Nintendo 3DS this week.

In fact, there's only one eShop release that really piques my interest. For one thing, though, it's not a game. For two, it's a flamin' DSiWare title.

Aside from that, there are some fishing games, a so-so Picross game, a hide-and-seek game with pets, a Virtual Console game... yaaawn.

Let's get this over and done with, huh...

European eShop releases

Super Black Bass 3D is, as you'd expect, a fishing game. Problem is that it's not a very good one (our Peter gave it a 3/10 in his review). Ouch.

I Love My Pets is essentially a Nintendogs-style game in which you play the manager of a hotel for cats and dogs. Shouldn't it be called 'I Love My Cats and Dogs', then? Anyway, that's £24.99.

You might not recognise the name Street Gangs - it's better known as River City Ransom, you see. You can grab this side-scrolling fighting game on the Virtual Console for £4.49.

And though we don't normally mention DSiWare games, we're going to have to this week. That's because the best new game on the 3DS eShop is a DSiWare game. Funny that.

Petit Computer is an app for creating your own games using the BASIC programming language. Ever wanted to learn a programming language and / or make games for your 3DS? Grab this for £7.19, then.

US eShop releases

A computer virus is about to launch all of the world's nuclear weapons simultaneously in Chain Blaster. Guess what? Yep, you are the commander of the anti-virus here. $6.99 for this particular space shooter.

Angler's Club: Ultimate Bass Fishing 3D costs a whopping $29.95, and is awful. See above.

Picross E2 is a Picross game... in case you hadn't guessed. It's fine if you've never played Picross before, but check out our review of this new game first just in case.

And that is your lot. I know. Rubbish week, right? Here's hoping for a massive improvement next week.
