In a few weeks' time, Nintendo will roll out a system update for the 3DS relating to those StreetPass "relay stations" we told you about in June.

So, if you go within range of a Nintendo Zone hotspot in about a month's time, you will be able to swap StreetPass data with the last person who connected to that hotspot - even if that person is no longer in range.

Then, the next person will be able to receive your data.

This relay system will give you more opportunities to exchange StreetPass data. That's something that will come in handy when playing the recently released StreetPass Squad, StreetPass Battle, SteetPass Garden, and StreetPass Mansion.

There are over 25,000 Nintendo Zone hotspots across Europe, and more than 29,000 locations across North America. The relay system will go live later this summer.

Shinobi

During the same Nintendo Direct broadcast where Nintendo confirmed the StreetPass Relay system, Nintendo of Europe boss Satoru Shibta revealed that the Sega 3D Classic series will hit the European eShop "soon".

These are ports of classic Sega games that have been enhanced with 3D graphics.

That will include Altered Beast, Ecco the Dolphin, Galaxy Force, Shinobi, Sonic The Hedgehog, Space Harrier, Streets of Rage, and Super Hang-On.

You can watch the full (European) Nintendo Direct broadcast below.
