Traveller's Tales is making the official game of the upcoming Lego movie
Full circle
Traveller's Tales's Lego output is nothing short of spectacular.
In blending humour, exploration, and a clear love for its subject matter, the Cheshire-based studio has conjured up a series of awesome Lego-related titles, including Lego Batman: DC Super Heroes and Lego The Lord of the Rings: The Video Game.
At the same time, when Lego has used its own licences, like in the recent Lego Legends of Chima: Laval's Journey, the result has been less impressive.
Which is why we're a little torn over the news that Traveller's Tales is making the official game of the upcoming Lego movie. You can see the trailer for the film below.
The Lego Movie Videogame will be available for PS Vita and 3DS next year to coincide with The Lego Movie hitting cinemas.
In the game itself, you are cast as the bumbling regular Lego chap Emmett, who ends up embroiled in a scrap to save the world.
You'll need to find the blueprints left behind by the Master Builders in order to create virtual Lego contraptions to aid you in your quest.
There'll be 15 levels to play through and more than 90 characters from the film for you to unlock along the way.
There's no solid release date yet for The Lego Movie Videogame, but we reserve the right to be cautiously optimistic about this one.
